Elk Bugling, Wolves and Bears in Fall
Elk bugling is at its peak during the fall as large bull elk round up and guard their harems. Bears are stocking up on food for their long winter naps, and wolves are hunting in the Lamar and Hayden Valleys due to the large concentrations of elk. Participants travel to the best sites for viewing elk, bears and wolves and enjoy the magnificent autumn colors of Yellowstone. In addition, the two-day trip may include stops at Old Faithful, the colorful Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and the terraces of Mammoth Hot Springs. Make reservations as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

There is a maximum of eight participants per biologist.  

Cost
The cost of the two-day tour is $650 per adult and $495 per child, based on double occupancy. The three-day tour is $950 per adult and $745 per child. The single supplement fee is $85 for the 2-day expedition and $125 for the 3-day expedition. A deposit of 50% per person is required. Price includes the expertise of a biologist, hotel accommodations, meals, snacks and beverages, round-trip transportation from Jackson in a safari-style vehicle, use of premium optics and park entrance fees.

Yellowstone: Old Faithful Expeditions
Our Old Faithful Expedition is a wonderful opportunity to explore the wildlife, scenery and history of the world's first National Park. The tour begins in Jackson and heads north via the inner loop road of Grand Teton National Park. This route provides spectacular views of the majestic Teton Mountain Range along with its splendid waterways. Elk, moose, mule deer, antelope, coyotes, eagles, osprey and trumpeter swans frequent many of these areas. Next we enter Yellowstone National Park and head directly to Old Faithful. Old Faithful erupts as your wildlife guide takes you on a walking tour of the Upper Geyser Basin. Bison and elk are often seen wandering among the hot pools, steam vents and geysers. After lunch in the historic Old Faithful Inn, we head back toward Jackson and may stop at Yellowstone Lake, West Thumb Geyser Basin or Oxbow Bend.

Yellowstone: Lower Loop Expeditions
Photo courtesy Tom Callister.This expedition begins in Jackson and passes through Grand Teton National Park. We admire the Tetons and stop for wildlife viewing opportunities along the way, but the primary focus is on Yellowstone National Park. The Lower Loop Expedition includes a tour of the Old Faithful area, a guided geyser walk, lunch, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, both upper and lower falls, Yellowstone Lake and the drive back through Grand Teton National Park. Yellowstone’s history, geology, wildfires and wildlife will be discussed in detail throughout the expedition. We return to Jackson about dinner time.

Wildlife Discovery Expeditions - The West's Best Wildlife Day
The full-day Wildlife Discovery Expedition offers numerous opportunities to view and learn about wildlife. For many participants, this is the highlight of their vacation in Jackson Hole. Our biologists know the best areas for viewing wildlife and can answer your questions about wildlife, geology and local history. Our comfortable, customized, safari-style vehicles have retractable roof hatches and sliding windows that allow for easy wildlife observation.

The day begins with an early morning drive through spectacular Grand Teton National Park and surrounding Bridger-Teton National Forest, providing a chance to view wildlife in the quiet dawn hours. Following our morning excursion, we have lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we continue our search for wildlife and enjoy a short walk or snowshoe. We return late in the afternoon, completing an exciting day of observing and learning about this magnificent ecosystem.

To protect the environment, vehicle travel is restricted to established roads. Roads range from paved highways to secondary dirt roads. The guide will choose the route based on group interest and recent wildlife sightings.

Sunrise & Sunset Expeditions - A Glimpse of Western Wildlife
Both Sunrise and Sunset tours offer a four-hour introduction to the wildlife of the Greater Yellowstone Geo-ecosystem, taking advantage of times of day when animals are the most active. Expedition leaders know the best wildlife viewing spots, understand animal behavior and teach you how to find and observe wildlife on your own - without disturbing the animals or endangering yourself. Participants typically see a variety of species of birds and animals, including Jackson Hole's large-hoofed mammals. Our customized, safari-style vehicles are equipped with retractable roof hatches and sliding windows to maximize observation opportunities.

Wildlife and Scenic Float
BarkerEwing Scenic Float Trip photoEnjoy a 4-hour Sunrise or Sunset Expedition with Wildlife Expeditions and take a scenic float trip on the Snake River in Grand Teton National Park with Barker-Ewing Scenic Float Trips. This 10-mile scenic float trip takes about 2.5-3 hours depending on the water levels and is an excellent opportunity to view wildlife in the early morning or evening hours at the base of the Tetons.

Cost
Cost is $155 per adult, $115 for children 6-12 years old. Children under 6 are not allowed on the scenic float trip, but they may attend the Sunrise or Sunset Expedition for $66/child.
