Wildlife Expeditions is an educational outreach program of Teton Science Schools, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) environmental education organization that was established in 1967. Wildlife Expedition’s stated purpose is to "connect people to nature through responsible wildlife observation and natural history exploration." Last year, over 5,500 wildlife enthusiasts went on various expeditions with us, enjoying all four seasons in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. And, while we can accommodate large groups, most of these tours consisted of small intimate groups of four to seven people with over 50% of the expeditions geared toward families.
Wildlife Expeditions has a well-earned reputation of locating wildlife in the Greater Yellowstone Geo-ecosystem and providing fascinating educational experiences in a safe, fun and relaxed environment. Not only do we teach you about local wildlife and their interactions with each other as well as other wildlife in various habitats, we encourage you to take time to observe, reflect and gain appreciation for wildlife and nature wherever you travel.
Our professional staff provides the highest level of customer service and all expeditions are led by professional wildlife biologists. All of our guides are extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and they love to share their passion with others. During their time off they can often be found volunteering for local wildlife research projects or looking for moose, wolves and bears.
Here at Wildlife Expeditions we truly want to make your wildlife viewing experience the highlight of your visit to Jackson Hole. We are the only organization in the area that has customized our vehicles, so they all have multiple roof hatches and sliding side windows. These amenities provide some of the safest and most ethical approaches to viewing wildlife. We also provide premium Kowa spotting scopes and high quality Brunton binoculars. Each vehicle also contains local field guides, maps, snacks, coffee and a cooler full of beverages. Child seats are also available to children under 80 pounds (Wyoming law).
Wildlife Expeditions is a partner and permittee of Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, the National Elk Refuge, Bridger-Teton National Forest, the Bureau of Land Management and the Land Commission Board of the State of Wyoming. As a Member of the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce, we also work closely with all the hotels in Jackson and Teton Village as well as many local businesses.
